How to request a correction

Send the article title or link, identify the specific statement at issue, explain why it is incorrect, and include a dependable supporting source. Our public correction contact channel will be added before launch.

How corrections appear

Small spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a note. A meaningful factual correction will include an updated timestamp and a note describing what changed. We do not silently remove accurate material because it is unpopular or inconvenient.

Updates are different from corrections

Developing stories may gain new facts after publication. Those additions will be labeled as updates when the original reporting was accurate at the time.
